The Philosophy
At Lab Rat Learners, we ignite a passion for science in kids through hands-on learning, making education an adventure that inspires curiosity and creativity. Our goal is to show your kids how exciting and fun science can be. There are no worksheets, homework or tests - we just explore the wide range of scientific disciplines by performing experiments. Our "Lab Rats" learn about scientific principles and their importance by doing, not by rote. We hope our classes spark an interest in the sciences that kids can follow throughout their lives.
About Me
I have always had an interest in science and it was always one of my favorite classes in school. I attended the University of Rochester where I earned a degree in microbiology and had the opportunity to explore a variety of scientific fields in a professional setting. I started working laboratory environments at 18 and have experience in ecology and evolutionary biology, biomedical genetics, immunology, computer science, and quantum communications and atomic physics. After we decided to start our family I decided to take a few years off from work to stay home with our 3 wonderful girls. I developed the idea of Lab Rat Learners to allow myself to work in a field I am passionate about but still stay home to take care of the kiddos. I am excited to continue to grow this business and share my passion with others.
